Can a cat on furniture trigger an Ajax motion detector?

A cat may trigger an Ajax motion detector after jumping onto a sofa, shelf, cabinet, or cat tree. The elevated surface moves the cat closer to the detector and may place it inside a more sensitive part of the protected area.
